My mom texted me last week asking if the lettuce in her fridge was “one of the bad ones.” That’s basically been the theme of 2026 — recalls popping up often enough that people have started double-checking their groceries out of habit. Some of it’s the big outbreak stuff that makes the news. A lot of it is quieter: a mislabeled allergen here, a contaminated batch there, stuff that never trends but still matters if it’s sitting in your pantry.
I’m keeping this page updated as new recalls come in, roughly once a week, so you don’t have to go digging through the FDA site yourself every time something sounds familiar.

Taylor Farms de Mexico — iceberg lettuce, Cyclospora This one’s been the big story of the month. Taylor Farms de Mexico pulled all its central-Mexico-sourced iceberg lettuce off U.S. shelves after the FDA traced a Cyclospora outbreak back to shredded lettuce used at Taco Bell locations across several states. If you buy Marketside-brand iceberg salad or shredded lettuce at Walmart, check the best-by date — anything from July 18 through early August is included. Khong Guan Corporation — glutinous rice balls with black sesame filling Undeclared peanuts. That’s it, that’s the recall — but it’s a serious one if you or someone in your house has a peanut allergy. Showed up on the Washington State DOH recall list.
Eunha Fisheries — sliced Korean halibut and flounder sashimi The fish itself is fine. It’s the little soy sauce and vinegar-red-pepper-paste packets included in the package that are the problem — they contain wheat, soy, and sesame that weren’t listed in English anywhere on the label. Steroid eye drop recall (prednisolone) Not food, technically, but people keep asking us about it so it’s staying on this list — a Class II recall covering over 2.5 million bottles. We broke it down in our eye drop recall explainer; the FDA’s own listing is in its recalls and safety alerts database.

Clover Hill Dairy — cheese, Listeria monocytogenes This started small, just a few requesón and cuajada products, then grew to cover every cheese Clover Hill Dairy makes once Listeria turned up in testing. The annoying part is that the cheese gets sold under a bunch of other brand names — Kesso, Quesos La Ricura, Izalco, De Mi Pueblo, Rio Lindo — so knowing “Clover Hill Dairy” doesn’t tell you much if that’s not the name on your package. The FDA’s outbreak page has the full alias list and where it was sold.
Nelson & Isa Lacteos / La Ceiba Foods Latin Market — requesón, Listeria Two distributors downstream of the Clover Hill Dairy supply chain recalled their own requesón products, mostly sold in Maryland, Virginia, and D.C. Same FDA page covers this one too.
Lehi Valley Trading Company — chocolate covered raisins A small recall, just 624 units of the 15-ounce High Valley Orchard bag, but again for undeclared peanuts. Logged on the FDA alerts feed.
Revival Animal Health — canine milk replacers Not something you’d eat, but worth mentioning if you’ve got a foster litter or a shelter dog at home: certain Breeder’s Edge and Shelter’s Choice milk replacers had inconsistent vitamin D levels. Same alerts feed has it.
TNVitamins / Doctor’s Pride — moringa capsules A supplement recall over possible Salmonella in a milk powder ingredient, sold through Amazon, Walmart, Target, and TikTok Shop. Tracked on FoodReady’s running 2026 list.

If you bought something on this list
Don’t taste it to check — you can’t smell or taste your way to knowing if something’s contaminated. Compare the lot code and best-by date on your package against the actual recall notice, since most recalls only cover a specific date range, not everything ever sold under that name. Return it for a refund or just toss it; both are usually fine. And if you already ate it and feel okay, you’re probably fine — but Listeria, Salmonella, and Cyclospora symptoms can take a few days to show up, so it’s worth keeping an eye on things for a bit.

Where do I check if something I bought is recalled? The FDA’s own database is the source of truth. This page is meant to save you the trouble of searching it yourself for the ones that matter most right now.
Why does it feel like recalls spike every summer? Heat helps bacteria like Listeria and Salmonella grow faster, and produce moves through the supply chain quicker during peak growing season. More handling, more opportunities for something to slip through.
